Bold & Daring
Born in Takoma Park, Maryland, I was raised in the suburbs of Washington, DC, in a middle-class family. Overcoming seemingly impossible obstacles, numerous setbacks, and many challenges is my life story in a nutshell. That has made me the man I am today. I am a bold and daring go-getter who believes that nothing is impossible. I have reached many milestones that people told me were not possible.
Husband & Father
Introduced by close friends in 1992, my beautiful bride said 'I do' in October 1993. We have two adult children, each completed their bachelor's degree and have thriving careers. As empty nester's we sold our home and dramatically downsized. Currently, we reside in the waterfront Washingtonian-Downtown Crown area of Gaithersburg, Maryland. We love it here. It's a great place to call home.
It has been an honor to have served in key leadership roles within the non-profit community. I have extensive experience planning, directing and leading programs, seminars, workshops and large-scale outreach activities and events, including those that provide critical needs and services to the community. I have volunteered in the community since age six. I love people. I love community. I'm all-in.
With more than 30 years experience in the public sector, I currently serve in a senior management position overseeing multiple professional staff in one of the largest, most diverse, highly educated and affluent communities in the US, populated by more than one million residents, just outside of Washington, DC. I have dedicated my entire professional career to serving the public.
This is where the rubber meets the road for me! As a certified coach and mentor, I have been honored to have mentored hundreds of men and young men over the last three decades. Typically, each of us has room for learning how we can be a better boyfriend, husband and or dad. I simply walk alongside other men, offering encouragement and sharing resources. I began my public speaking career very early in life. In fact, my first television interview was before I left elementary school--yes, that's right--I was eight years old. It's getting me to STOP speaking that some have since struggled with--LOL. There is so much more to this story. Click here to read more...
